Karachi University Students New Update 2024. KARACHI: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the University of Karachi and the University of Karachi Alumni Association, Houston, Texas (UKAHA) to offer need-based scholarships to students residing in the US. The scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students from Karachi University who are pursuing their undergraduate studies in the US. The scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition and living expenses. The university will also provide mentorship and guidance to the students.
Karachi University Students To Get US Scholarships
Students in the departments of international relations, economics, psychology, mass communication, chemistry, statistics, mathematics, and computer science will receive cash grants under the program for two months.
The “UKAHA Academic Achievement Award” was signed by UKAHA Houston President Muhammad Azam Akhtar and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi of the University of the Kingdom. The program will also provide the students with the opportunity to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences. The university will also offer internship opportunities to the students.

Speaking at the event, the vice chancellor commended the alumni community for its dedication to their alma mater and its role in supporting students. The university has also created a job placement service to help students find jobs after they graduate. The university also offers online courses to provide students with more flexibility and convenience.

US scholarship Payments Increased
It should be highlighted that under the 2019 agreement, the UKAHA raised the annual financial assistance from Rs 500,000 to Rs one million due to inflation and rising living expenses. The university also provides students with a variety of scholarships and grants to help them pursue their studies. The university has also implemented a mentorship program to help students with their career development.
Speaking on the occasion, UKAHA Houston President Akhtar assured the students of the alumni body’s support going forward and acknowledged the professors and varsity for being crucial to their success. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence and financial need. The university will also provide career counseling and job placement assistance.
