Chinese Government Scholarship Program: Under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2024–2025, only applicants with a valid HAT or USAT score—scores earned after January 1, 2022—will be taken into consideration. For their application to be considered, applicants must submit a valid score through the HEC portal.

The Chinese Scholarship Council is an agency of the Chinese government. Is provides research and study opportunities for Pakistani researchers and students in Chinese universities to strengthen ties between the two countries’ educational systems. HEC is the designated agency for these scholarships for the academic year 2024–2025 on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.

The People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Education has given the China Scholarship Council (CSC) authority for the enrollment. And management of the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Scholarships for Undergraduate/Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral/PhD programs in their respective fields of study are available to qualified students.

Scholarship awardees at all levels can choose from a wide range of academic programs offered by designated Chinese universities in the fields of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, legal studies, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts, among others.

Chinese Government Scholarship Program provides financial support to foreign academics, instructors, and students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Certain degree programs also require a year of preparatory Chinese language study.

Eligibility Criteria For Chinese Government Scholarship Program

  1. Candidates must be citizens of Pakistan or the AJ&K. Holders of two nationalities are not permitted to apply.
  2. Candidates need to be in excellent health.
  3. On the application deadline, candidates with unfinished degrees are not permitted to apply. 
  4. Candidates for the Undergraduate/Bachelors program must be under 25 years old at the time of application and have completed intermediate, A-level, or FA-FSC (12 years of schooling).
  5. Those who have finished their 16-year bachelor’s degree and are under 35 years old are eligible to apply for the master’s program.
  6. Candidates for PhD/Doctoral programs must be under 40 years old at the time of application and hold a Master’s degree, MS/MPhil (17/18 years).
  7. fulfill the requirements for applications listed on the China Scholarship Council website and portal.
  8. fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the universities you’ve applied to in terms of linguistic ability, academic eligibility, and other pertinent factors.
  9. It’s possible that applicants aren’t currently receiving any other scholarships.
  10. Every candidate must submit their HAT or USAT test results. The candidate had to have received at least a 50 out of 100 on the HAT or USAT. If an applicant takes the HAT or USAT exam on or after January 1, 2022, they may upload their test results on the HEC website for consideration. Applications without the necessary minimum HAT or USAT test score (50 out of 100) will not be considered for further processing.​

FINANCIAL DESCRIPTION

Money for tuition: The host university will make full use of the tuition money. It might pay for student activity fees, health insurance, education, and administrative expenses.

Accommodation: Each recipient will receive a free university dorm or an accommodation stipend.

Stipend: Subject to vary based on the China Government Scholarship Program.

  • Monthly minimum for undergraduate students: CNY 2,500
  • Masters students: a minimum of CNY 3,000 per month
  • PhD candidates: a minimum of CNY 3,500 per month
  • Travel Outlay:
  • The scholarship awardees would be responsible for covering their travel expenses. HEC won’t be held financially responsible.​

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Every detail submitted in the online application and any supporting documentation must be accurate, truthful, and full.

  • Apply online at this link: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk. Please choose “Learning Opportunities Abroad” after registering and filling up your profile. Obtain a printed copy of the application for the applicant to sign after it has been submitted. 
  • Before applying, please update your HEC profile with your most recent cellphone number and email address. The online application system will be quite active in the days preceding the application deadline, so it is recommended that you finish and submit your application as soon as possible. Following the application’s successful submission through the HEC site, keep a printed copy of the application signed by you.
  • Apply online using program type A and agency number 5861 at the CSC portal at http://www.campuschina.org/ or https://www.csc.edu.cn. Get a signed copy of the completed application form that has been submitted. By downloading it from the Chinese Scholarship Council website.
  • Download the Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship. Complete the online application on the CSC portal for further information about the Chinese government scholarship program.
  • Online applications must be submitted through the CSC and HEC portals. The candidacy will not be taken into consideration if the form is not submitted on either of the aforementioned two portals.
